Communicating on the internet is different. You rarely get to meet the people you communicate with, even if you e-mail on a daily basis. The Met On The Internet exhibition is the result of meeting people through bits and pixels and knowing them in some fashion.

Every time I participate in an event I try to create an artwork adapted to that event. It's interesting to see how my artworks will adapt as well as how, I will myself adapt.

We are a bunch of artist met on the Internet. I liked the prospect of meeting "Netizen friends" in the flesh. I wanted to impress and surprise them with a special artwork as I like to do with my other friends "in the flesh"

For me, a Canadian born and living in Montreal, Bethesda and Washington D.C. are somewhat in the same geography. It gave me a good reason to visit Mount Vernon and soak in the life and deeds of George Washington.

To impress my new friends and maybe some of you, and to give myself a challenge ; a large multi-parts "Aspire" Washington (The first American Eagle) rose to art life. Aspire are artworks about us. About our complex nature. They are like everyone of us. You have to meet them to really understand them.

And a poem I wrote for the Aspire "W" (Washington, first American eagle) :

Aspire "W"(Washington, the first American eagle)

He was straight as a blade
Noble as a sword
Nature was his love and territory
A land he wanted
He soared over it and in broad daylight
For his family and friends
He conquered it
It made him the father of a great nation
